NRL SuperCoach Insider Tips: Players to Watch and Strategic Buys for Round 5

Storm vs Broncos - Thursday 8pm

Cameron Munster (5/8, 728K)

The mun is back! With stocks very low at the 5/8th position this year we should all be watching very closely. 728K is quite expensive so we advise you wait a couple of games to see how munster performs.

Fletcher Baker (FRF, 359K)

Payne Haas isn't due back for 2-3 weeks so Fletcher could see continuous scores over the 50 mark. He is the number 1 option up front now playing 42 mins and a base of 45 points last start. Break even is 2 so there will also some good price rises.

Bulldogs vs Roosters - Friday 6pm

Sam Hughes (FRF, 243K)

Sam has been disappointing so far in the first few rounds due to limited opportunity from the coach. Named to start this week we are hoping he plays more than 15 minutes this game. If he can play close to 40 minutes then he would definitely be a buy at his current price of 243K

Angus Crichton (2RF, 409K)

Angus started on the bench so far averaging 26 mins per game with scores of 28 and 18. A proven supercoach gun Angus has been named to start this week against the doggies so this could be a value pick if he can get back to playing a 80 minute role on the edge for the roosters.

Knights vs Dragons - Friday 8pm

Kai Pearce-Paul (2RF, 441K)

KPP is establishing himself as a premium 2nd rower. Averaging in the 60's in the last 2 games while also playing 80 minutes without any attacking stats makes him a must have. His current price of 441K is still a bargain price for a player with his potential.

Jack De Belin (FRF, 597K)

If you are looking for a POD at the front row position then JDB is definitely worth a look. Quietly averaging in the 70s in the last 2 games Jack is becoming one of the main guys Shane Flanagan is relying on to churn out major minutes in the middle.

Rabbitohs vs Warriors - Saturday 3pm

Jackson Ford (2RF, 641K)

Jackson has been averaging 74 points so far this season and has been a real attacking thread on the left edge for the warriors. Running off Shaun Johnson has really helped elevate his game is one to watch in the coming weeks.

Cameron Murray (2RF, 643K)

Murray continues to carry the bunnies pack in 2024. Murray is the main point of attack in the middle for the rabbitohs so he is always threatening with attacking stats each week.

Sea Eagles vs Panthers - Saturday 5:30pm

Haumole Olakau'atu (2RF, 688K)

Ola has been a beast on the right edge for Manly this season but has just been missing out on the attacking stats. He crossed the line last week and put up a score of 94.

Dylan Edwards (FLB, 781K)

Not known as a supercoach gun due to competition at his spot but Dyl has been amazing so far this year. His attack has really gone to another level especially with the injury to Nathan Cleary. Edwards is one to consider if looking for a POD.

Dolphins vs Tigers - Saturday 7:30pm

Hamiso Tabui-Fidow (FLB/CTW - 692K)

The hammer has come out flying this season averaging 95 this season. He is well on his way to reaching the 800K mark and looks to be the main attacking weapon for the dolphins.

Stefano Utoikamanu (FRF, 511K)

Uto was a beast in the middle against the eels leading the way for the tigers pack to grind out a win. He has 12 tackle breaks in the last 2 games which is a promising sign for the big man.

Cowboys vs Titans - Sunday 4pm

Tom Deardan (5/8, 621K)

With the cowboys playing the lowly titans this week any cowboy will be a great purchase. Dearden made the play of the round last week chasing down Selwyn Cobbo over 95 metres. Dearden can always be relied on for a 60 point score and we are hoping the attacking stats follow through as well.

Jayden Campbell (FLB,/5/8 456K)

Jayden being available at 5/8th is a big plus for his stocks this season. He has only played 1 game so far for a score of 48. The titans have been terrible so far this season but Jayden is one to watch.

Raiders vs Eels - Sunday 6:15pm

Joseph Tapine (FRF, 606K)

Tapine has dropped 50K so far this season so is close to bottoming out in price. He played an increased of 60 mins last week with a score of 72. We hope Ricky can increase his minutes to that 60 minute mark.

Ryan Matterson (2RF, 587K)

Matto has dropped 49K so far this season and is named to start in the second row. If he can get back to the 80 minute role on the edge then he definitely is a must.
